Health & Safety
The Occupational Health and Safety Act places a number of obligations on employers, amongst others are the following:
- To conduct a hazard identification risk assessment within the organisation.
- To inform all employees of the risks attached to the activities they perform.
- To identify reasonable and practical mitigating measures to manage the risk profile.
- To develop, implement and maintain a safety management system, for example the appointment of various personnel to conduct routine safety inspections (ladders, vessels under pressure, electrical equipment, power tools, vehicles), to establish health and safety committees, to investigate all accidents, etc.
